Mohiuddin Islamic Medical College (MIMC) was established in 2009 in Mirpur as the first medical college in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, founded by Mohi-ud-Din Islamic University under the Anjuman-e-Mohi-ul-Islam Siddiquia Trust. It began its inaugural MBBS class on 27 April 2009 with PMDC approval for 100 students annually, addressing what had previously been a complete absence of local medical-education facilities in AJK.
