Khairpur Medical College was established and inaugurated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on 29 December 2012, initially operating under the name LUMHS Khairpur Medical College as a part of Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences before being renamed as an independent Government of Sindh project. It received PMDC recognition for 100 MBBS seats in 2015, with its first batch (admitted 2014-15) graduating in March 2020.

Location

Khairpur Mirs is a historic town in Sindh that was the seat of the former princely state of Khairpur under the Talpur dynasty until its accession to Pakistan in 1955, and remains an important educational and administrative center in upper Sindh.
