Karachi Medical & Dental College (KMDC) was founded in 1991 as Pakistan's first medical and dental college established, managed and administered by a Municipal Corporation, opening with just 50 MBBS and 25 BDS students. It was recently converted to university status and renamed Karachi Metropolitan University by the Karachi Mayor's office.
