Pakistan has 50 public-sector medical colleges recognised by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC), spread across five provinces/regions. Seat allocations below are the official PMDC-published figures — these represent total sanctioned intake capacity, not the closing-merit seat counts tracked elsewhere on this site for the 44 flagship colleges in our medical colleges directory.
On fees: public medical colleges are government-subsidised and don't publish a per-college fee schedule the way private colleges do. Across the colleges that do disclose a figure, annual tuition runs roughly Rs 20,000–100,000/year (e.g., King Edward Medical University ~Rs 20,000/year, Allama Iqbal Medical College ~Rs 30,000/year) — a small fraction of any private college's fee. Treat any specific number as approximate and confirm with the individual college, since these vary by province and are revised administratively rather than published as a fixed "MBBS fee" the way private colleges do.

Which one is right for you?
Seat allocation tells you capacity, not your odds — for that you need closing merit, which varies a lot even between colleges with similar seat counts. See our medical colleges directory for closing-merit and fee data on the country's highest-profile public colleges, or run your number through the MDCAT aggregate calculator before shortlisting.
