Baqai Medical College traces to Baqai Hospital, Nazimabad, founded by Dr Fariduddin Baqai and Dr Zahida Baqai in the late 1960s. In 1976, the Baqai Foundation acquired land on the M-9 Super Highway to build Baqai Medical Complex; the first MBBS students were admitted in 1988, PMDC approved clinical teaching in 1990, and Baqai Dental College followed in 1992. Baqai Medical University was formally created by an Act of the Sindh Assembly in July 1996.

Location
