Khyber Pakhtunkhwa runs its own entrance test — ETEA — separate from UHS-MDCAT in Punjab or Sindh-MDCAT in Sindh. All eight public medical colleges in the province admit through it, and merit here runs notably lower than Punjab's public-college cluster.
All KPK colleges (ETEA)
- Khyber Medical College — Peshawar, 300 MBBS, 91.2% closing merit. The province's largest and oldest.
- Ayub Medical College — Abbottabad, 250 MBBS, 50 BDS, 91.7% closing merit — currently KPK's highest.
- Khyber Medical University — Peshawar, 100 MBBS, 90.5% closing merit.
- Khyber Girls Medical College — Peshawar, 100 MBBS, 90.3% closing merit, women-only.
- Saidu Medical College — Swat, 100 MBBS, 88.5% closing merit.
- Gomal Medical College — Dera Ismail Khan, 100 MBBS, 87.6% closing merit.
- Bacha Khan Medical College — Mardan, 100 MBBS, 50 BDS, 87.4% closing merit.
- Nowshera Medical College — Nowshera, 100 MBBS, 87% closing merit.
What this means for your shortlist
KPK's public-college merit band (87–92%) sits below Punjab's (93.5%+) and above most of Sindh's public colleges (80–86%) — a middle tier. If your ETEA-equivalent aggregate is in the high 80s, you have real options across the province rather than only the two flagship Peshawar colleges; Swat, Dera Ismail Khan, Mardan and Nowshera all close within a few points of each other.
